Riyadh – Mubasher: The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) shrank in the first quarter of 2017 by 2.9% or 208.8 points to the level of 7,001.63 points, compared to 7,210.43 points in Q4-16.
The market capitalisation decreased in Q1-17 to SAR 1.638 trillion from SAR 1.682 trillion in Q4-16, losing SAR 43.91 billion.
However, the index rose in March by 0.42%, compared to a fall of 1.51% in January and a 1.82% decrease in February.
The market capitalisation increased in March by SAR 4.63 billion to SAR 1.633 trillion.
The media sector shrank slipped 216.2% in Q1-17, the banks sector dropped 4.26%, the telecom sector shrank 6.02% and the materials sector declined 2.38%.
On the other hand, REITs sector was the best performer in Q1-17 after adding 16.67%.
Trading volume decreased in Q1-17 by 29.4% to 13.5 million shares from 19.17 million shares exchanged in Q4-16, turnover also shrank 16% to SAR 251.3 billion from SAR 299.6 billion.
SABIC was the top gainer in Q1-17 after rising 5.75% to SAR 96.75, while STC topped losers after falling 8% to SAR 66.75.
