TASI down Tuesday after 9 rises

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s trading session in the green zone, after nine consecutive rises, as the main index was dragged down by the negative performance of banks and petrochem sectors.

Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) lost 0.25% or 15.19 points and closed at the level of 5,997 points.

Total turnover increased to SAR 3.2 billion ($849.3 million) compared to SAR 3.05 billion ($812.27 million) in last session. Traded volumes also rose to 216 million shares from 189.3 million shares on Monday’s session.

As for the sectors performance, nine sectors declined today, led by hotels and tourism which lost 2.28%, as Altayyar and Alhokair went down by 2.6% and 1.15% respectively.

Petrochem came in second with 0.81%, on the back of SABIC which lost 0.85%, while SAFCO added 1.39%, closing at SAR 84 and SAR 63.5 respective lyre.

The banks sector slipped 0.55% as Samba and Al-Rajhi decreased by 2.46% and 0.25% and closed at SAR 19.4 and SAR 56.75 respectively.

On the other hand, six sectors rose today, led by telecom which added 1.08%, as STC, and Mobily gained 1.08% and 1.3%, an closed at SAR 59 and SAR 18.15 respectively.

Meanwhile, 89 stocks declined on today’s session, led by AXA Cooperative which dropped 3.47%, while 74 stocks closed in green as Saudi Fisheries (Al Asmak) led the gainers and surged 9.64%, while six stocks remained unchanged.

Alinma registered the highest traded value with SAR 280.64 million, followed by Dar Al Arkan which was the most active in traded volumes with 47 million shares with a total turnover of SAR 240.7 million.
