TASI down on blue chips; Nomu slips early Thursday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark index and the parallel market’s index (NOMU) opened Thursday in the red.

By 10:35 am Saudi time, the Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) shed 0.14% or 10.20 points to 7,088.93 points, with turnover reaching SAR 457.57 million after 28.28 million shares were exchanged through 13,700 transactions.

Fourteen sectors were down led by food products with 0.58%, followed by semiconductors with 0.6%

The telecoms, banks, and basic industries sectors lost 0.24%, 0.08%, and 0.01%, respectively.

In the meantime, a total of 93 stocks were in the red led by GO with 2.6%, whereas 67 stocks gained led by Zain with 3%, and 10 stocks remained stable.

The Nomu-Parallel Market index declined 0.31% to 4,917.61 points, after its stock Abo Moati for Bookstores plunged 22%.

TASI and Nomu last closed Wednesday in the green.
