TASI drops, Nomu hits 2M-high at Wednesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday down, after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 46.67 points, or 0.63%, to 7,418.8 points.

TASI’s traded volume reached 137 million shares on Wednesday, against 114.45 million on Tuesday, while the trading value increased to SAR 3.2 billion ($863.2 million), from SAR 2.8 billion ($750.13 million).

The commercial and professional services sector levelled down 1.6%, followed by media and banking segments with 1.56% and 1.06%, respectively. 

The telecommunication services fell 0.28%, while the materials sector shed 0.16%.

On the other hand, the food and staples retailing sector went up 2.16%, while transportation inched up 0.88%.

The Company for Cooperative Insurance’s (Tawuniya) stock was TASI’s worst performer declining 3.96% to SAR 66, whereas Malath Insurance’s stock gained 6.25% to SAR 18.20.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, surged 109.01 points, or 3.58%, to close at 3,157.67 points, registering its highest growth since 26 December.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock topped Nomu’s gainers rising 4.71% to finish at SAR 64.50, whereas Al-Kathiri Holding Company’s stock tumbled 2.51% to SAR 24.10.
