TASI drops, Nomu slightly rises at Thursday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday in red territory after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) tumbled 10.94 points, or 0.14%, to 7,997.61 points.

TASI’s traded volume reached 104.15 million shares, down from 126.53 million on Wednesday, while the main market’s liquidity plunged to SAR 2.6 billion ($692.53 million), from SAR 3.05 billion ($812 million).

The consumer services and food and staples retailing sectors levelled down 0.64% each, followed by the telecommunication services sector with 0.58%.

The banking and materials sectors dipped 0.32% and 0.21%, respectively.

On the other hand, the retailing sector gained 1.64%, while the energy sector went up 1.09%.

Alujain Corporation’s stock led losers with 2.84%, whereas the Saudi Cable Company’s stock was the best performer after jumping 9.82%.

Alinma Bank’s stock, down 0.19%, topped in terms of trading volume after 17.88 million shares were exchanged, while the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock, declined 0.16%, led in terms of trading value after generating SAR 439.16 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market added 10.65 points, or 0.41%, to finish at 2,609.31 points.

Raydan Co and Baazeem Trading Co stocks’ rose 2.54% and 0.79%, respectively, whereas Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company’s stock inched down 0.11%.
