TASI drops 15 pts, Nomu jumps at Wednesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) levelled down 0.2% or 14.81 points, to close at 7,479.09 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 175.32 million shares on Wednesday, against 181.56 million on Tuesday, whereas traded value increased to SAR 2.98 billion, from SAR 2.86 billion.

The food and beverages sector fell 1.3%, followed by pharmaceuticals with 1%, energy with 0.9%, banks with 0.5%, materials with 0.2%, and telecommunications services with 0.1%.

On the other hand, the real estate management and development sector went up 1.4% and consumer durables and apparel inched up 0.6%.

Wataniya Insurance’s stock was TASI’s worst performer after dropping 4%, whereas Salama Cooperative Insurance’s stock topped gainers with 9.4%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock was the bourse’s most active after 69.99 million shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 644.88 million.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, gained 1.4% or 40.92 points to 3,060.55 points.

Nomu’s trading volume amounted to 48,230 shares on Wednesday, against 32,730 on Tuesday, while liquidity grew to SAR 949,570, from SAR 808,960.

Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries’ stock jumped 8.2% and Arab Sea Information System’s stock rose 5.8%, whereas the stocks of Raydan Co and Thob Al-Aseel Company tumbled 1.6% and 1.5%, respectively.

Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock led in terms of traded volume after 17,550 shares were exchanged, generating SAR 218,550.
