TASI drops 20 pts, Nomu inches up Tuesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s trading session in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell 0.24% or 19.93 points to 8,315.42 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 295.16 million shares on Tuesday, up from 255.83 million on Monday, while traded value rose to SAR 6.06 billion, from SAR 5.68 billion, to register its highest liquidity in nine months or since 22 June 2017.

The food and beverages sector decreased 1.5%, followed by the healthcare equipment and services with 1.1%.

While the materials and telecommunication services segments fell 0.7%, and  0.3%, respectively.

On the other hand, the media, consumer durables and apparel, and banking sectors increased 6.1%, 2.5%, and 0.03%, respectively.

Arabian Cement’s stock was the bourse’s worst performer with 8.3%, whereas Al Sorayai Trading and Industrial Group’s stock led gainers after jumping 7.2%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock dominated TASI’s activities after 61.18 million shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 862.84 million.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, grew  2.96 points, or 0.09%, to finish the mid-week session at 3,182.99 points.

Nomu’s traed volume hit 58,400 shares on Tuesday, against 46,410 on Monday, while liquidity increased to SAR 1.3 million, from SAR 908,700.

Raydan Co’s stock led losers with 2.9%, whereas the stock Al-Omran Industrial Trading rose 2.5%.

Al-Kathiri Holding Company’s stock acquired Nomu’s traded value after generating SAR 442,420 in a turnover, while Arab Sea Information System’s stock saw the most trading volume after 17,670 shares were exchanged.
