Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Tuesday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 0.3%, or 22.4 points, to 7,171.74 points.
TASI’s trading volume amounted to 252.2 million shares on Tuesday, against 187.99 million on Monday, while liquidity increased to SAR 4.4 billion, from SAR 3.53 billion.
The real estate management and development sector declined 2.5%, followed by telecommunication services with 0.9%, consumer and durables apparel with 0.87%, and banks with 0.03%.
On the other hand, the pharmaceuticals, food and staples retailing, and materials sectors rose 1%, 0.6%, and 0.2%, respectively.
Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock tumbled 9.9%, whereas United Electronics Co.’s (eXtra) stock gained 5.3%.
Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock topped TASI in terms of traded volume after 94.05 million shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 1.14 billion, closing Tuesday at SAR 11.68.
In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, went down 0.13%, or 4 points, reaching 3,100.16 points.
Nomu’s trading volume fell to 53,970 shares on Tuesday, against 66,920 shares on Monday, while liquidity decreased to SAR 1.1 million, from SAR 1.35 million.
Arab Sea Information System’s stock levelled down 4.7% and Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock shed 1.6%, whereas Development Works Food’s stock rose 4.9%.
Baazeem Trading’s stock led Nomu’s traded volume after 24,020 shares were exchanged, generating SAR 629,510.
