Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell 44.65 points, or 0.48%, to close at 9,195.02 points on Monday.
TASI’s liquidity rose to SAR 3.58 billion on Monday, compared to SAR 2.88 billion in the previous session, while the main market’s traded volume increase to 158.64 million shares from 119.73 million on Sunday.
The basic materials sector dropped around 1.1% as Saudi Kayan Petrochemical’s stock topped decliners with 5.37% after the firm reported turning to losses in the first quarter of 2019.
Meanwhile, the media sector was the top faller after sliding 2.4%, followed by the insurance and investment and financing services sectors which tumbled by 1.5% and 1.4%, respectively.
Similarly, the heavyweight banking sector retreated 0.4%.
On the other hand, the retail food sector was the top gainer with 1.5%, while the utilities sector added 1.1%.
The stock of Aldrees Petroleum and Transport Services led risers and advanced 2.9%.
Saudi Kayan Petrochemical’s stock led TASI in terms of trading volume and value after 33.58 million shares were traded at a turnover of SAR 451.25 million.
Meanwhile, NOMU, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, fell 5.81 points, or 0.16%, to finish the session at 3,589.47 points.
The stocks of Baazeem Trading and Arab Sea Information System declined 1.9% and 0.4%, respectively, while Samaani Factory For Metal Industries’ stock grew 1.1%.
