TASI edges down; Nomu in green at Sunday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) inched down by 0.11%, or 9.75 points, to close at 9,265.79 points on Sunday.

TASI’s liquidity shrank to SAR 2.5 billion on Sunday, compared to SAR 4.99 billion in the previous session, while the market’s traded volume retreated to 91.38 million shares from 176.82 million on Thursday.

The food retail sector was the top decliner after sliding by 0.8%, followed by the commercial services sector which fell by 0.6%.

Similarly, the heavyweight banking sector declined by 0.42%.

On the other hand, the media sector rose by 3.4%, followed by the healthcare sector with 0.9%, while the basic materials sector grew by 0.3%.

Middle East Specialized Cables Company’s (MESC) stock headed fallers and plunged by 3.5%, whereas MetLife’s stock was the top gainer after adding 9.97%.

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock led TASI in terms of turnover with SAR 361.79 million, while Saudi Kayan Petrochemical’s stock registered the highest trading volume of 8 million shares.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, advanced by 7.54 points, or 0.21%, to finish the session at 3,599.79 points.

Al Kathiri Holding’s stock was Nomu’s best performer after rising by 2.6%.
