TASI ends Monday at lowest level since November 2016

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) extended its losing streak at the end of Monday’s trading session.

The benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) dropped by 530.85 points or 7.75% to close at 6,315.51 points, hitting its lowest level since 7 November 2016.

The market’s turnover retreated to SAR 6.56 billion on Monday from SAR 7.18 billion in the previous session, while the traded volume went down to 283.9 million shares from 295.7 million on Sunday.

The banks sectors headed the decliners and slid by 8.46%, while the basic materials, telecommunications, and energy sectors fell by 8.87%, 6.19%, 5.17%, respectively.

Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Company (Sadafco) was the only gainer after advancing by 1.43% to SAR 127.80.

National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) and National Gas and Industrialization Company (GASCO) each fell by 1.01%, while Aldrees Petroleum and Transport Services Company dropped by 1.08%.

Al Rajhi Bank, down by 8.11%, led TASI in terms of turnover with SAR 966 million, followed by Saudi Aramco, which slid by 5.5%, with SAR 938.89 million.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, dipped by 293.63 points or 4.84% to 5,770.47 points after Arab Sea Information System Company led the losers with 12.88%.

National Building and Marketing Co was Nomu’s only gainer as it rose by 3.12%.
