TASI ends October with 1% gains

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) recorded a positive performance in October, despite a struggle by most bourses around the world.

The Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) rose by 1.16% or 92.53 points, and ended the month’s trade at the level of 7,907.01 points.

Market capitalization slightly declined in October by 0.93% or SAR 17.72 billion to SAR 1.882 trillion.

As for the market sector indices, 14 sectors ended the month with gains, led by healthcare and utilities, gaining 5.66% and 5.43%, respectively.

Meanwhile, major blue chip sectors saw mixed performance, with banks rising by 0.15%, while telecom and materials decreasing by 2.4%, and 2.61%, respectively.

Traded volumes rose to 3.86 billion shares in October, compared with 2.23 billion shares in September.

Traded values also increased to SAR 95.74 billion, compared with SAR 49.76 billion in the month before.
