TASI ends Wednesday up, Nomu slips

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) increased 0.18%, or 13.21 points, to 7,212.62.

TASI’s trading volume reached 180.8 million shares on Wednesday, against 224.7 million shares on Tuesday, while liquidity tumbled to SAR 3.64 billion ($971.47 million), from SAR 4.36 billion ($1.16 billion) in the previous session.

The consumer services sector rose 2.51%, followed by diversified financials with 2.75%, materials with 0.15%, banks with 0.1%, and telecommunication services with 0.08%.

On the flipside, the media sector went down 1.2% and food and beverages sector edged down 0.64%.

Saudi Vitrified Clay Pipes gained 10%, closing at SAR 57.70, whereas Saudi Ceramics fell 2.53% to SAR 27.40.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock, which advanced 1.63% closing Wednesday at SAR 13.06, led the bourse in terms of trading volume after 35.16 million shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 461.3 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market levelled down 0.09%, or 2.76 points, reaching 3,094.26 points.

Raydan Co inched up 0.58% to SAR 17.30, whereas Al-Omran Industrial Trading declined 4.36% to SAR 16.24.
