Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Tuesday’s trading session in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) plunged 42.45 points, or 0.49%, to 8,581.48 points.
TASI’s trading volume stood at 152.13 million shares, down from 200.24 million on Monday, while liquidity declined to SAR 3.7 billion ($990.93 million), from SAR 4.2 billion ($1.12 billion).
The pharmaceuticals sector led losers with 1.7%, followed by the banking and telecommunication services sectors with 0.93% and 0.74%, respectively.
On the other hand, the insurance and materials sectors levelled up 0.63% and 0.09%, respectively.
The Saudi Investment Bank’s (SAIB) stock was the worst performer with 3.36%, while the stock of Amana Cooperative Insurance was the best performer with 9.97%.
Saudi Fisheries Company’s (Alasmak) stock, which added 2.89%, led the main market in terms of traded value with SAR 317.4 million, while Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Co’s stock, which dipped 1.21%, posted the highest trading volume with 16 million shares.
In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, surged 95.89 points, or 3.4%, to finish the mid-week session at 2,912.39 points, registering its highest level since July 2018.
National Building and Marketing Co’s stock topped Nomu’s risers with 19.97%.
