Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday’s trading session in red territory, pressured by the fall of blue chips.
The benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went down by 1.4 %, or 114.37 points, ending the session at 8,171.17 points.
TASI’s turnover decreased to SAR 4.64 billion on Wednesday, from SAR 28.62 billion on Tuesday, while trading volume levelled down to 167.14 million shares, compared to 766.04 million shares in the previous session.
The telecommunication sector topped the decliners falling 3.1%, followed by the banking and materials sectors with 1.8% and 1.1%, respectively.
On the other hand, the consumer durables and apparel sector headed the gainers adding 1.95%, while the insurance sector levelled up by 1.9%.
Meanwhile, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, jumped by 0.44%, or 17.72 points, finishing the session at 4,016.82 points.
