TASI falls, Nomu rises at Tuesday's close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed the mid-week session in the red after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) tumbled 22.15 points, or 0.29%, to 7,506.09 points.

TASI’s traded volume reached 119.27 million shares on Tuesday, against 147.65 million shares on Monday, while trading value decreased to SAR 2.78 billion ($740 million), from SAR 3.08 billion ($820.27 million).

The real estate management and development sector fell 1.3%, followed by banks with 0.32%, and materials with 0.22%.

On the other hand, the utilities sector edged up 0.65%, while food and staples retailing sector rose 0.63%.

Batic Investments and Logistics Co’s stock declined 3.04% to SAR 61, whereas Saudi Industrial Export Co’s (SIEC) stock was the best performer with 9.97%, to close at SAR 244.80.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock, which closed 0.4% up, led TASI in terms of trading volume after 23 million shares were exchanged, while the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock topped in terms of liquidity, generating SAR 317.59 million.

In the meantime, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, increased 12.71 points, or 0.42%, to 3,042.91 points.

The stock of Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries dropped 5.88% to SAR 64, whereas Arab Sea Information System’s stock inched up 0.31% to SAR 12.84.
