TASI falls, Nomu surges 32 pts at Sunday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Sunday’s trading session with a negative performance after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) tumbled 13.41 points, or 0.16%, to 8,465.75 points.

By the end of the first session of the week, TASI’s liquidity rose to SAR 2.62 billion, from SAR 2.57 billion on Thursday, while trading volume reached 130.4 million shares, up from 119.02 million in the session before.

The real estate investment traded funds (REITs) sector led losers with 0.7%, followed by the utilities sector with 0.5%.

The materials and banking sectors shed 0.42% and 0.08%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the consumer durables and apparel sector was the best performer with 1.4%, while the capital goods sector levelled up 1.3%.

Bonyan REIT Fund’s stock was the worst performer with 4.4%, while the stock of Electrical Industries Co's (EIC) stock led gainers with 10%.

Al Rajhi Bank’s stock generated the highest liquidity with SAR 258.96 million, while Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company’s stock topped in terms of traded volume with 10.45 million exchange shares.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, went up 32.01 points, or 0.86%, to close at 3,766.43 points.

Nomu’s liquidity increased to SAR 1.61 million, from SAR 1.08 million, while trading volume stood at 71,630 shares, up from 50,460 in the session earlier.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock led gainers with 2.7%, while Al Omran Industrial and Trading Company’s stock topped losers with 5.6%.

The stock of Thob Al-Aseel Company was the most active after 30,060 shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of SAR 852,490.
