Riyadh – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) registered a drop in the week ended Thursday, 1 March by 11.4.1 points or 1.52% to close at 7,411.2 points.
Turnover on the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) grew 5.1% to SAR 16.2 billion ($4.3 billion) this week from SAR 15.4 billion ($4.1 billion) in the week before, while volumes slipped 0.4% to 685 million shares traded versus 687.7 million.
Meanwhile, market capitalisation decreased by SAR 20.1 billion ($5.4 billion) to close at SAR 1.741 trillion.
A total of six sectors ended the week higher, led by food retail with 5%, followed by energy and transport in second and third places with 2.8% and 1.5%, respectively.
On the flipside, 14 sectors closed on a low note, led by real estate development, which fell 3.3%, followed by insurance and banks with 3.1% and 3%, respectively.
