TASI falls 32 pts, Nomu drops at Monday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Monday's trading session in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 0.4% or 32.41 points to 7,480.89 points.

TASI’s traded volume stood at 158.08 million shares on Monday against 164.63 million on Sunday, while liquidity tumbled to SAR 2.79 billion, from SAR 2.85 billion.

The energy sector declined 1.7%, followed by real estate management and development with 1.66%, commercial and professional services with 1.3%.

The telecommunication services fell by 0.75%, while the banking and materials sector shed 0.3% and 0.26%, respectively.

On the other hand, the retailing and diversified financials sectors increased 1% and 0.5%, respectively.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock, which tumbled 7.3% to SAR 8.99, led TASI in terms of trading volume and value after 61.46 million shares were exchanged, generating SAR 575.15 million.

On the other hand, Middle East Paper Co.’s (MEPCO) stock rose 5.2%.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, levelled down 0.5% or 15.42 points to close at 3,068.42 points.

Nomu’s trading volume amounted to 39,230 shares on Monday versus 78,300 on Sunday, while turnover decreased to SAR 769,340, from SAR 1.63 million.

Baazeem Trading, Arab Sea Information System, and Thob Al-Aseel Company stocks’ went down 2.2%, 2.2%, and 0.4%, respectively, whereas Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock edged up 0.9%.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s topped Nomu’s liquidity with SAR 194,520, while Arab Sea Information System’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 14,000 shares were exchanged.
