Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended the week on Tuesday, 29 August, in the green zone after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose 0.18% or 13 points to reach 7,258.64 points, against 7,245.66 points in the previous week.
Tadawul announced that the Eid Al Adha holiday will start after the end of trading on Tuesday, 7 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1438 hijri, or 29 August 2017, and trading activities will resume on Wednesday, 15 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1438 hijri, or 6 September 2017.
The consumer services sector topped TASI during the week with a rise of 2.85%, followed by materials with 0.28%, and telecommunication services with 0.2%.
On the other hand, the food and staples retailing sector declined 1.2%, and the banks sector shed 0.17%.
TASI’s traded value during the week tumbled 21.2% to an average of SAR 2.3 billion per session, from SAR 2.9 billion in the week earlier.
The average trading volume of the week ended on 29 August down 24%, reaching 102.88 million shares per each session, compared to 135.24 million shares in the week before.
On a weekly basis, the benchmark index (NOMU) of the Nomu-Parallel Market decreased 1.07% or 37.48 points, closing at the level of 3,478.17 points, from 3,515.65 points.
