TASI gains 2.4% in week

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended the week on a positive note, as the main index achieved noticeable gains.

The Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) went up by 2.4% or 182.57 points, and closed at 7744.7 points.

The market cap rose by SAR 54.3 billion to SAR 1.835 trillion, with the average turnover rising 44% to SAR 4.7 billion per session, and the average traded volumes going up 54.5% to 192.9 million shares.

Total traded values registered SAR 23.7 billion, compared to SAR 16.4 billion in the week before.

As for the market sectors’ performance, 13 sectors ended the week in the green zone, led by food with 8.8%, retail with 5.6%, and utilities with 4.8%.

The telecom, materials, and banks sectors all made gains, increasing by 4.5%, 3.57%, and 1.3%, respectively.

On the other hand, six sectors recorded losses, led by insurance that fell 1.76%, and commercial services with 0.61%.

Meanwhile, the parallel market saw a negative performance this week, as the general index (NOMU) was down 3.09% to 3,020.99 points.
