TASI gains at Tuesday’s open; Nomu falls

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark index rose early Tuesday, while the parallel market index continued its decline for the third session in a row.

By 10:36 am Saudi time, the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) added 0.2% or 13.11 points, reaching 7,250.05 points. Turnover on the index amounted to SAR 518.4 million after 37 million shares were exchanged through 13,100 transactions.

Most of TASI’s sectors were in the green, with eleven sectors rising led by media and publishing with 5.3%, followed by food production and investment services with 0.7% and 0.5%, respectively.

On the other hand, nine sectors were down, led by commercial services with 0.7%. In terms of leading sectors, banks and telecoms each fell 0.3%, while materials edged down 0.03%. Saudi Research and Marketing Group led risers, surging 7.2%, while South Cement led fallers.

In the meantime, the Nomu-Parallel Market index dropped 2.6% or 91.94 points to 3,432.39 points, with of its stocks performing in the red.

Raydan led Nomu’s decliners, losing 4.3%, followed by Al Kathiri with 4.1%, whereas Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries gained 1.5%.
