Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Monday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) tumbled 0.23% or 17.49 points, reaching 7,710.57 points.
TASI’s trading volume stood at 176.24 million shares on Monday, against 162.7 million shares on Sunday, while traded value rose to SAR 3.98 billion ($1.06 billion) from SAR 3.76 billion ($1 billion).
The media sector decreased 1.51%, followed by telecommunication services with 1.45%, banks with 0.28%, and materials with 0.05%.
On the other hand, the insurance sector levelled up 1.01%, while food and staples retailing rose 0.53%.
Saudi Vitrified Clay Pipes’ stock was TASI’s worst performer after dropping 2.83% to SAR 51.80, whereas Saudi Steel Pipe’s stock jumped 9.89%, reaching SAR 19.66.
Al Rajhi Bank's stock, up 0.62%, topped the bourse in terms of trading value, generating SAR 606.7 million, while Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company’s stock, up 0.46%, led in terms of traded volume after 44.46 million shares were exchanged.
In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, inched up 0.08% or 2.54 points to 3,022.9 points.
Al-Omran Industrial Trading’s stock fell 3.75% to SAR 15.40, whereas Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock grew 2.25%.
