Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange's benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) soared 888.47 points, or 11.96%, to 8,314.19 points by the end of first half of 2018, compared to the year-ago period.
On June 5, TASI hit 8,406.90 points, registering the highest closing point in H1-18.
Market capitalisation of the issued stocks jumped 12.38%, registering SAR 1.982 trillion ($528.62 billion) by the end of June, compared to the year-ago period.
TASI's traded value increased 9.03% to SAR 475.58 billion (126.82 billion) by the end of H1-18, while trading volume fell 8.10%, reaching 21.59 billion during the same period, compared to 23.49 billion in H1-17.
The number of transactions levelled up 12.34% to 12.51 million in the first six months of this year, from 11.13 million the prior-year period.
Trading days reached 124 in H1-18, down from 125 days in the first six months of 2017.
