TASI goes up 53 pts, Nomu plunges at Wednesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) jumped 0.73%, or 52.55 points, to 7,224.29 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 244.55 million shares on Wednesday, against 255.2 million shares on Tuesday, whereas liquidity rose slightly to SAR 4.43 billion ($1.18 billion), from SAR 4.4 billion ($1.17 billion).

The pharmaceuticals sector increased 2.27%, followed by banks with 1.91%, and materials with 0.23%.

On the flipside, the consumer and durables apparel sector shed 0.64% and telecommunication services edged down 0.04%.

The National Commercial Bank’s (NCB) stock led TASI’s gainers with 3.12% to SAR 56.90, whereas Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock levelled down 9.71%, closing at SAR 10.60.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock topped the bourse in terms of trading volume and value.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market retreated 1.63%, or 50.50 points, to 3,049.66 points.

Arab Sea Information System’s stock gained 1.50% to SAR 11.50, whereas Raydan Co’s stock was Nomu’s worst performer after falling 6.98%, closing at SAR 16.
