TASI hits 2-week high, Nomu drops at Thursday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Thursday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 70.49 points, or 0.9%, to 7,702.99 points, registering its highest level since 13 November.

TASI’s liquidity rose to SAR 4.27 billion by the end of the last session this week, against SAR 3.7 billion on Wednesday, while trading volume hit 155.58 million shares, up from 151.37 million.

The food and staples retailing sector increased 1.76%, followed by the banking sector with 1.59%.

The retailing, telecommunication services and materials sectors added 1.6%, 0.95%, and 0.08%, respectively.

On the flipside, the consumer services sector fell 1.4%, while the media sector dipped 1%.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, tumbled 14.72 points, or 0.6%, to finish at 2,378.19 points.

Nomu’s traded volume grew to 61,100 shares, from 52,200 in the session before, while liquidity jumped to SAR 1.11 billion, from SAR 906,320.
