TASI hits 6M low, Nomu drops 63 pts at Wednesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday in decline after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) slumped 57.69 points, or 0.75%, to 7,635.38 points, recording its lowest level in more than six months, or since 8 March.

TASI’s traded volume stood at 103.78 million shares, up from 79.7 million on Tuesday, while liquidity rose to SAR 2.3 billion ($612.3 million), from SAR 1.98 billion ($528.8 million).

The food and beverages sector fell 1.93%, followed by the materials and banking sectors with 0.83%, and 0.70%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the pharmaceuticals sector increased by 0.49%, while the telecommunication services sector inched up 0.28%.

United International Transportation Company’s (Budget) stock led losers with 6.4%, whereas the stock of Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Company’s (MedGulf) topped risers with 5.26%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Co’s stock led the main market in terms of trading volume after 22 million shares were exchanged, while Alinma Bank’s stock topped in terms of liquidity after generating a turnover of SAR 407.7 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, plunged 62.73 points, or 2.43%, to finish at 2,520.44 points, registering its lowest level since launching on 26 February 2017.

Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries and Thob Al-Aseel Company stock went down 4.26% and 4%, respectively.
