TASI hits highest since July at Wednesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday’s trading session in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 66.70 points, or 0.79%, to 8,466.10 points, recording its highest level since 22 July 2018.

TASI’s liquidity rose to SAR 2.65 billion, from SAR 2.57 billion in the previous session, while traded volume stood at 115.25 million shares, up from 114.27 million on Wednesday. 

The media and entertainment sector led gainers with 5.3%, followed the food and beverages sector with 2.9%.

The real estate management and development, materials, banking, telecommunication services sectors increased by 1.4%, 0.9%, 0.7%, and 0.08%, respectively. 

The Saudi Cable Company’s stock topped gainers after rising 8.3%, while Amana Cooperative Insurance’s stock led losers with 2.1%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock generated the highest liquidity with SAR 161.02 million, while the stock of Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company led the main market in terms of trading volume after 9.41 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, retreated 30.95 points, or 1.1%, to 2,779.95 points.

Nomu’s liquidity amounted to SAR 1.89 million, up from SAR 1.01 million, while traded volume hit 100,670 shares on Wednesday, compared to 41,560 on Tuesday.

Al Omran Industrial and Trading Company’s stock led losers with 4.3%, while Development Works Food Co’s (DWF) stock topped risers with 1.8%.

Raydan Co’s stock acquired Nomu’s activities after 38,900 shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 583,680.
