TASI hits lowest level in 9M at Sunday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday’s trading session on a negative note after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell by 107.47 points, or 1.3%, to close at 7,912.30 points, hitting its lowest level since 3 January when it dropped to 7,830.47 points.

TASI’s trading value plunged to SAR 2.41 billion on Sunday, compared to SAR 4.05 billion in the previous session, while the market’s trading volume dipped to 93.7 million shares from 146.93 million on Thursday.

The banks sector was the top loser with 2.6%, followed by the food and beverages sector which slid by 1.4%.

Meanwhile, the basic materials and telecommunications sectors declined by 0.33% and 0.02%, respectively.

Alujain Corp’s stock led the fallers with 3.8%, while Saudi Arabian Amiantit’s stock was the top gainer with 3.7%.

Al Rajhi Bank’s stock spearheaded TASI in terms of trading volume and value after 12.84 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of SAR 759.54 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, tumbled by 147.18 points, or 3.6%, to close at 3,893.29 points.

Baazeem Trading’s stock was Nomu’s worst performer as it plunged by 6.7%.
