TASI inches higher early Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark index, the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) opened Sunday slightly higher on the back of leading stocks, while the Nomu parallel market index resumed its fall.

By 10:40 am Saudi time, TASI edged up 0.02% or 1.3 points to 8,449.3 points, while turnover amounted to SAR 484.23 million after 24 million shares changed hands through 17,350 transactions.

Many of TASI’s leading sectors were in the green as the capital goods rose 0.76% while materials added 0.61%.

On the flip side, food production led losers, falling 3.2%, while telecoms and banks decreased 0.34% and 0.04%, respectively.

Al Khodari led gainers, adding 6.83%, whereas Almarai led decliners, falling 4.1% after disclosing a fall in its profits for the fourth quarter and full year 2018.

In the meantime, the parallel market index “NOMU” fell 0.85% or 23.48 points to 2,751.71 points. Arab Sea led NOMU’s losers, shedding 2.26%. The secondary market saw no gainers in that time.
