Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday in the green after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 108.74 points, or 1.4%, to 8,023.01 points, registering its highest growth in 16 sessions or since 19 April.
TASI’s trading volume stood at 182.35 million shares on Sunday, down from 187.04 million on Thursday, while trading value fell to SAR 3.8 billion, from SAR 3.92 billion.
The telecommunication services sector increased 2.9%, followed by the pharmaceuticals segment with 2.8%.
Likewise, the consumer durables and apparel, banking and materials sectors added 2.5%, 2%, and 1%, respectively.
On the flipside, the capital goods, insurance, and energy sectors levelled down 0.9%, 0.2%, and 0.13%, respectively.
Al Ahlia for Cooperative Insurance’s stock led gainers after jumping 9.99%, whereas the stock of Al Babtain Power and Telecommunication Co’s (Al-Babtain) was the worst performer after dropping 8%.
Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development was TASI's most active stock after 53.21 million shares were exchanged, generating SAR 637.07 million in a turnover.
In the meantime, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, went up 64.52 points, or 1.2%, to finish at 3,109.07 points, touching its highest level since 16 April or in 19 sessions.
Nomu’s trading volume reached 15,890 shares on Sunday, against 38,710 on Thursday, while its liquidity rose to SAR 831,600, from SAR 656,630.
Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock led risers with 3.7%, whereas Baazeem Trading’s stock declined 2.7%.
Baazeem Trading’s stock acquired the parallel market activities after 12,000 shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 738,960, to close Sunday at SAR 63.20.
