TASI jumps 134 pts, Nomu falls Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 134 points, or 1.77%, to close the first session of the week at 7,696.07 points, touching its highest growth since 21 June 2017, as well as its highest level since 19 October 2015.

TASI’s traded volume stood at 184.2 million shares on Sunday, against 130 million on Thursday, while trading value increased to SAR 4.62 billion ($1.23 billion), from SAR 3.85 billion ($1.03 billion).

The insurance sector rose 3.9%, followed by telecommunication services with 3.6%, banks with 2.13%, and materials with 1.6%.

On the flipside, the food and staples retailing sector inched down 0.52%, while healthcare equipment and services shed 0.27%.

The National Petrochemical Company’s (Petrochem) stock levelled up 9.93% to SAR 22.26, whereas Mouwasat Medical Services Company’s stock decreased 2.05% to finish at SAR 170.60.

Al Inma Bank’s stock, up 1.25%, led TASI in terms of trading volume after 25.82 million shares were exchanged, while Saudi Basic Industries Corp’s (SABIC) stock, up 0.21%, acquired liquidity after generating SAR 554.3 million. 

In the meantime, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, tumbled 7.7 points, or 0.25%, to 3,109.51 points.

Al Samaani Factory for Metal Industries Company’s stock dropped 3.25% to SAR 62.60, whereas Raydan Co’s stock inched up 0.13%, reaching SAR 15.80.
