TASI jumps 28 pts, Nomu inches down at Monday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in the green zone after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 0.41% or 28.43 points, reaching 6,961.52 points.

TASI saw trading of 186.26 million shares on Monday, against 180.28 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity increased to SAR 3.47 billion, from SAR 3.38 billion.

Retailing sector rose 1.8%, followed by diversified financials with 1.7%, banks with 0.55%, and materials with 0.5%.

On the flipside, commercial and professional services, real estate management and development, and telecommunication services sectors decreased 1.3%, 1%, and 0.1%, respectively.

Middle East Specialized Cables’ (MESC) stock led TASI’s gainers after growing 9.9%, whereas Saudi Industrial Export Company’s (SIEC) stock levelled down 9.9%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume after 51.61 million shares were exchanged, generating SAR 497.91 million, to close at SAR 9.29.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market slipped 0.11% or 3.32 points to reach 3,004.63 points.

Nomu’s traded volume stood at 31,260 shares on Monday, against 119,990 shares on Sunday, while liquidity tumbled to SAR 453,030, from SAR 2.42 million.

Development Works Food’s stock fell 4.4%, whereas the stocks of Abo Moati for Bookstores, and Al-Omran Industrial Trading went up 4.2%, and 2.3%, respectively.

Raydan Co’s stock acquired Nomu’s trading volume after 21,520 shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 334,280, to close at SAR 15.50.
