Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) opened Wednesday in the red after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) declined 0.3% or 26.31 points, reaching 8,289.11 points.
By 10:44 am Saudi time, TASI’s traded volume hit 49.7 million shares, via 25,700 transactions, generating SAR 926.63 million.
The energy sector fell 1%, followed by pharmaceuticals with 0.9%, food and beverages with 0.8%, while banks and materials shed 0.55% each, and telecommunication services lost 0.4%.
On the other hand, the media sector rose 3.6%, while consumer durables and apparel increased 1.6%.
The Saudi Investment Bank’s (SAIB) stock led losers after declining 2.3%, whereas L'azurde Company for Jewellery’s stock topped gainers with 3.3%.
Meanwhile, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, remained unchanged at 3,182.94 points.
Raydan Co’s stock dropped 2.95%, while Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries’ stock inched down.
On the other hand, Arab Sea Information System’s stock edged up 0.1%.
