TASI maintains gains on sectors rise

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Monday’s trading in green, continuing its gains for the third consecutive session on the back of the positive performance by the market stocks.

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went up 0.54% or 38 points, and closed at the level 7,059.55 points.

Traded values increased to SAR 3.82 billion ($1.02 billion) compared to SAR 3.61 billion ($963 million) in last session, thile traded volumes reached 212.14 million shares up from 185.6 million shares on Sunday.

The utilities sector index grew 2.91% on the back of Saudi Electricity which gained 3.46% to the level of SAR 24.5, while GASCO added 0.89% to SAR 37.10.

The banks sector also gained 0.54%, as Al Rajhi and NCB went up 0.35% and 0.24%, closing at SAR 62.25 and SAR 41.4 respectively.

Similarly, the telecom sector index added 0.58% as Mobily, Zain, and STC went up by 0.37%, 2.97%, and 0.03% respectively.

Materials index edged up 0.23%, as SABIC gained 0.12% to SAR 96.75, while SAFCO slipped 0.3% to SAR 70.75.

On the other hand, six sectors closed in red, led by pharma which lost 2.6%, after Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries led the decliners and fell by 2.89% to SAR 37.6.

Meanwhile, Atheeb Telecom was the session’s biggest gainer and surged 5.03% to SAR 3.6.

Dar Al Arkan was the most active in traded volumes with 28.87 million shares, while Alinma registered the highest turnover at SAR 301.94 million.
