Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 84.76 points, or 1.1%, to 7,780.83 points, registering its highest level since 18 October 2015.
TASI’s trading volume stood at 263.83 million shares on Monday, against 184.21 million on Sunday, while liquidity rose to SAR 5.92 billion, from SAR 4.62 billion.
The food and beverages sector increased 5%, followed by retailing with 3.8%, utilities with 2.3%, materials with 1.5%, banks with 0.6%, and telecommunication services with 0.02%.
On the flipside, the healthcare equipment and services sector fell 1.1%, while media edged down 0.6%.
The National Petrochemical Company’s (Petrochem) stock was TASI’s best performer after gaining 10%, whereas National Medical Care Company’s stock levelled down 2.4%.
Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company’s stock led the bourse in terms of trading volume after 78.1 million shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 822.43 million.
In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, grew 3.74 points, or 0.1%, to finish the second session of the week at 3,113.25 points.
Nomu’s traded volume reached 120,810 shares, against 105,340 on Sunday, while trading value increased to SAR 2.08 million, from SAR 1.98 million.
The stocks of Baazeem Trading, Al-Kathiri Holding Company, and Arab Sea Information System shed 0.9%, 0.65%, and 0.6%, respectively, whereas Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock went up 2.7%.
Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock acquired Nomu’s activities after 51,650 shares were changed hands, generating SAR 597,430.
