Riyadh – Mubasher: The benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) extended its gains on Wednesday for the third straight session after adding 29.62 points, or 0.33%, to close at 9,077.20 points, hitting its highest level since 30 July 2015 when it reached 9,098.27 points.
TASI’s liquidity rose to SAR 3.06 billion on Wednesday from SAR 2.99 billion in the previous session, while the market’s traded volume increased to 116.31 million shares, compared to 112.13 million on Tuesday.
The heavyweight banking sector rose by 0.86%, followed by the consumer services, retailing, and telecommunications sectors which went up 0.7%, 0.67%, and 0.6%, respectively.
On the other hand, the pharmaceuticals sector led the decliners with 1.6%, while the basic materials and media sectors fell by 0.6% and 0.1%, respectively.
National Agricultural Marketing’s (Thimar) stock topped the gainers after adding 6.8%, while National Gypsum’s stock headed the fallers with 3.9%.
Al Rajhi Bank’s stock led TASI, in terms of turnover, with SAR 346.9 million, while Alinma Bank’s stock registered the highest trading volume of 6.24 million shares.
Meanwhile, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, edged down 0.83 point, or 0.02%, to close at 3,583.44 points.
Arab Sea Information System’s stock was Nomu’s worst performer with 2.8%, while Baazeem Trading’s stock rose 0.9%.
