TASI records 20-session high, Nomu falls at Sunday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Sunday's trading session with a positive performance after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) soared 100.86 points, or 1.3%, to 7,999.54 points, registering its highest level in 20 sessions or 29 since August.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 118.76 million shares, down from 169.08 million on Thursday, while the main market's traded value tumbled to SAR 2.85 billion, from SAR 3.41 billion.

The media, energy, materials, banking, and telecommunication services sectors increased by 2.3%, 2%, 1.6%, 1.56%, and 1.5%, respectively.

On the flipside, the retailing sector inched down 0.5%, while real estate investment traded funds (REITs) shed 0.5%.

Nama Chemicals’ stock was the best performer with 9.3%, whereas Swicorp Wabel REIT Fund’s stock was the worst performer with 4.5%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock topped in terms of liquidity after generating SAR 463.82 million, while Alinma Bank’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 16.62 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, levelled down 20.66 points, or 0.8%, to close at 2,574.64 points.

Nomu’s turnover fell to SAR 788,020, from SAR 1.61 million, while traded volume decreased to 52,240 shares, from 95,190 shares.

Baazeem Trading Co’s stock fell 3.9%, while Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company’s stock, down 1.4%, led in terms of traded volume after 25,720 shares were exchanged, with a liquidity of SAR 243,570.
