TASI retreats 55 pts in week, market cap drops

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) slumped 54.85 points, or 0.72%, reaching 7,607.32 points by the end of week on Thursday, 22 November.

TASI’s market capitalisation value decreased by SAR 16.4 billion ($4.38 billion), to SAR 1.8 billion ($480 billion), from SAR 1.816 billion ($484.4 billion) a week before.

On a weekly basis, trading volume tumbled 8.58%, reaching 613.6 million shares, compared to 671.2 million.

Average of traded volume fell to 122.7 million shares, from 134.2 million.

The bourse’s liquidity also plunged 11.9% to SAR 13.782 billion, from SAR 15.65 billion, while its average dropped to SAR 2.76 billion, from SAR 3.13 billion.

The capital goods sector was the worst performer with 6.67%, followed by media sector with 3.4%, telecommunication services with 2.55%, and materials with 1.54% during the week.

On the other hand, the retailing sector led risers with 2.03%, followed by the commercial and professional services sector with 1.76%, and banks rose 0.29%.
