TASI rises, Nomu falls to 12-session low Thursday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday in the green after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) increased 19.60 points, or 0.26%, to close at 7,525.22 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 144.34 million shares on Thursday, against 112.28 million on Wednesday, while traded value grew to SAR 3.26 billion, from SAR 2.78 billion.

The consumer services sector levelled up 1.3%, followed by energy and consumer and durables apparel which tumbled 1% and 0.7%, respectively.

While banks, materials and telecommunication services sectors fell 0.5%, 0.2%, and 0.1%, respectively. 

On the flipside, the food and staples retailing sector shed 0.7%, while utilities sector inched down 0.5%.

Saudi Arabia Refineries Company’s (SARCO) was TASI’s best performer with 9.9%, whereas Saudi Industrial Export Co’s (SIEC) stock tumbled 10%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock topped the bourse in terms of trading volume after 36.5 million shares were changed hands, while Al Inma Bank’s stock acquired liquidity with a turnover of SAR 367.7 million.

In the meantime, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, went down 47.48 points, or 1.5%, to 3,047.77 points, registering its sharpest losses in 12 sessions or since 6 February.

Nomu’s traded volume reached 56,160 shares on Thursday, against 90,800 on Wednesday, while trading value fell to SAR 903,700, down from SAR 1.62 million.

The stocks of Arab Sea Information System, Abo Moati for Bookstores, and Thob Al-Aseel Company declined 3.6%, 3.2%, and 2.1%, respectively.

Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock was Nomu’s most active after 35,020 shares were exchanged, generating SAR 423,360.
