Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) gained 125 points, or 1.48%, to 8,559.95 points in the week ended 31 January 2019, pushed up by the banking and materials sectors.
TASI’s trading volume grew to 820.94 million shares, while the market’s liquidity increased to SAR 17.94 billion.
Over the week, market capitalisation went up to SAR 2.025 trillion.
Most of the sectors rose, including utilities, which soared 9.4%, while the banking and the materials sectors added 2.8% and 0.45%, respectively.
In contrast, five sectors declined, including energy and telecommunications, which lost 1.85% and 1.24%, respectively.
The main index of the Nomu secondary market (NOMU) surged 165 points, or 5.7%, to 3,056.29 points during the week.
