TASI rises 20 pts, Nomu falls at Thursday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Thursday’s trading session with a positive performance after rising 20.20 points, or 0.24%, to 8,492.70 points.

TASI’s trading value increased to SAR 2.79 billion on Thursday, from SAR 2.15 billion on Wednesday, while traded volume stood at 111.64 million shares, up from 104.28 million in the previous session. 

The consumer services sector was the best performer with 1.5%, followed by the diversified financials sector with 1.1%.

The retailing, materials, banking and telecommunication services sectors rose 1%, 0.5%, 0.2%, and 0.04%, respectively. 

On the flipside, the food and beverages sector was the worst performer with 1%, while the pharmaceuticals sector levelled down 0.9%.

Leejam Sports Company’s “Fitness Time” stock topped TASI’s gainers with 4.7%, while the stock of MEFIC REIT Fund was the worst performer after losing 6%.

Al Rajhi Bank’s stock generated the highest liquidity with SAR 426.52 million, while Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume after 12.3 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, fell 4.48 points, or 0.12%, to close the last session of the week at 3,592.87 points.

Nomu’s liquidity rose to SAR 3.48 million, from SAR 1.83 million, while trading volume reached 203,380 shares, compared to 84,260 in the session before.

Development Works Food Co’s (DWF) stock led losers with 4.7%, while Arab Sea Information System Co’s stock was the best performer with 3.9%.

Arab Sea Information System Co’s stock topped Nomu in terms of volume and value after 94,000 shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of SAR 1.18 million.
