TASI rises 29 pts; Nomu stable early Tuesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) started Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note, driven by the increase of the banking and telecommunications stocks.

By 10:35 am Saudi time, the main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went up 29 points, or 0.31%, to 9,223.9 points.

TASI’s traded volume reached 18.11 million shares exchanged through nearly 16,460 transactions at a turnover of SAR 472.8 million.

The media sector led risers and grew 1.52%, while the banking and telecommunications sectors added 0.6% and 0.4%, respectively.

On the other hand, the retail sector headed decliners after sliding 0.89%, followed by the healthcare sector with 0.74% and the basic materials sector which edged down 0.08%.

Riyad Bank’s stock was the top gainer with 3%, while Saudi Arabian Mining Company’s (Ma’aden) stock led fallers and declined 2.86%.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, was stable at 3,589.47 points.
