TASI rises for 4th session in row

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday’s trading session in green for the fourth consecutive session, as the main index approached the level of 7,000 points.

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went up 0.45%, gaining 31 points, and closed at the level of 6,952.63 points - its highest level in seven sessions.

Traded values decreased to SAR 3.16 billion ($843 million) compared to SAR 3.45 billion ($944 million) in the last session. Similarly, traded volumes declined to 156.88 million shares down from 177.37 million shares on Thursday.

As for the sectors’ performance, media and publishing added 2.43%, as Marketing and Research and Tihama gained 2.32% and 2.1%, respectively.

The banks sector increased by 0.59%, as Al Rajhi rose by 1.24% to the level of SAR 65.50, while NCB fell 0.73% to SAR 39.50.

The telecom sector gained 0.38% at close, as STC went up 0.42% to SAR 67.50, despite the negative performance of Mobily and Zain.

The materials sector index saw marginal gains as it edged up 0.11% on the back of Yansab and Ma’aden which rose 1.17% and 0.86%, respectively, while SABIC fell 0.34% to the level of SAR 96.75.

Wafa Insurance led the session’s gainers and surged 9.98%, while Al Babtain was the biggest loser and dropped 4.07%.

Alinma was the most active in traded volumes with 17.63 million shares, while SABIC registered the highest turnover at SAR 338.7 million.
