Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday with a positive performance after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) increased 9.42 points, or 0.13%, to 7,514.36 points.
TASI’s trading volume stood at 119.59 million shares, up from 106.01 million on Tuesday, while the main market’s traded value rose to SAR 2.81 billion, from SAR 2.44 billion.
The pharmaceuticals, media, insurance, telecommunication services, and banking sectors went up 2.7%, 1.7%, 1.6%, 0.4%, and 0.06%, respectively.
On the flipside, the food and beverages sector inched down 0.65%, followed by the food and staples retailing sector with 0.5%, and the materials sector fell 0.17%.
Amana Cooperative Insurance Company’s stock was the bourse’s best performer with 9.96%, whereas the Saudi Industrial Export Company’s (SIEC) stock was the worst performer after plunging 9.9%.
The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock generated the highest liquidity with SAR 486.91 million, while Alinma Bank’s stock topped in terms of trading volume after 14.52 million shares were exchanged.
In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, decreased 2.01 points, or 0.08%, to finish at 2,423.20 points.
Nomu’s turnover grew to SAR 1.06 million, from SAR 3669,790, while trading volume reached 38,260 shares, up from 26,330.
The stock of Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries was the best performer with 7%, whereas Al Kathiri Holding Company’s stock led losers with 2.8%
Al Kathiri Holding Company’s stock was Nomu’s most active after 17,670 shares were exchanged, with a liquidity of SAR 628,380.
