Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) achieved its highest monthly gains in more than a year.
The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 5.9% or 423.8 points in January, its biggest gains since November 2016, as it ended the month at 7,650.1 points, the highest monthly close since August 2015.
The market capital rose by 6.05% or SAR 102.3 billion, reaching a total of SAR 1.795 trillion.
On the other hand, liquidity levels went the other way, as traded values declined 6.2% to SAR 81.97 billion, with the average turnover reached SAR 3.6 billion per session.
Traded volumes also decreased by 10.9% to 4.4 billion shares.
Banks led the rising sector indexes, gaining 11.2%, while telecom and materials added 6.07% and 5.7%, respectively.
As for the parallel market, the NOMU index lost 4.3%, and ended January’s trading at 3,005 points.
