TASI sees largest one-day gain since 2015 at Tuesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a rise, snapping a four-session losing streak.

TASI advanced by 446.52 points or 7.07%, its largest one-day gain since 2015, ending the mid-week session at 6,762.03 points.

The market’s turnover increased to SAR 7.82 billion on Tuesday from SAR 6.56 billion in the previous session, while the traded volume climbed to 345.46 million shares from 283.9 million on Monday.

The media and entertainment sector topped the gainers with 9.92%, followed by the energy sector which jumped by 9.68% as Saudi Aramco rose by 9.88%.

Meanwhile, the telecommunications sector went up by 7.86%, while the basic materials and banks sector grew by 7.29% and 5.78%, respectively.

As for stocks, Alujain Holding Corp was the only decliner with 2.66%, while Mouwasat Medical Services Co, Saudi Research and Marketing Group, and Savola Group leapt by 10% each.

Al Rajhi Bank, up 8.83%, topped TASI in terms of turnover with SAR 1.06 billion, followed by Saudi Aramco with SAR 798.2 million.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, rose by 70.23 points or 1.2% to close at 5,840.7 points after Development Works Food Co topped risers with 4.66%, while Al-Omran Industrial Trading Co was the sole loser after sliding by 4.2%.
