TASI sees worst weekly decline in nearly 3 yrs

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) recorded its worst weekly losses since the week that ended on 22 January 2016.

The Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) dropped 5.84%, or 466.51 points, as it ended the week at the level of 7,530.8 points, its worst loss in 151 weeks.

Market capitalization dropped around SAR 112.49 billion to SAR 1.785 trillion, compared to its level last week at SAR 1.898 trillion ($506.1 billion).

Traded values declines by 1.29% to SAR 14.9 billion, while volumes fell 5.56% to 641.65 million shares from 607.86 million shares in the week before.

All of the market sectors ended the week in the red zone, with the materials sector plummeting 7.93%, and media falling 6.85%.

Banks and telecom also decreased by 5.26% and 5.15%, respectively.
