TASI sheds 153 pts in week

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Market’s Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) lost 152.61 points, or 1.7%, to 8,666.39 points in a week.

The banking and materials sectors declined by 2.3% and 2.2%, respectively, while the media sector went down by 4.5% and the utilities sector dropped 4%.

On the other hand, telecom, food, and consumer durables sectors gained 0.2%, 1.7%, and 3.5%, respectively.

Market capitalisation decreased to SAR 2.045 trillion ($545.44 billion) over the week, compared to SAR 2.084 trillion ($555.75 billion) a week earlier.

TASI’s trading volume reached 489.29 million shares, while liquidity hit SAR 12.82 billion.

The Parallel Market index (NOMU) grew by 16.42 points, or 0.43%, to 3,819.63 points in the week ended 1 August.
