TASI slides 65 pts, Nomu hits 3M low at Monday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Monday's trading session in red territory after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) plunged 64.88 points, or 0.78%, reaching 8,274.98 points, while the secondary market levelled down.

TASI's traded volume amounted to 161.68 million shares, touching its highest level since 4 June, while the market's liquidity rose to SAR 3.81 billion, from SAR 3.49 billion, recording its highest turnover since 6 June.

The real estate investment traded funds (REITs) sector decreased by 2.1%, followed by the commercial and professional services sector with 1.04%. The materials, banking and telecommunication services sectors fell 1%, 0.8%, and 0.8%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the pharmaceuticals sector inched up 0.8%, followed by the food and staples retailing, and food and beverages sectors with 0.7% and  0.08%, respectively.

The REITs sector went down after Taleem REIT Fund’s stock tumbled 5.3%, whereas Amana Cooperative Insurance Company’s stock was the best performer after jumping 9.9%.

Dar Al-Arkan Real-Estate Development Company’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume after 38.43 million shares were exchanged, while the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock posted the highest turnover with SAR 831.97 million.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, retreated 33.81 points, or 1.1%, to finish at 2,938.7 points, registering its lowest level in three months.

Nomu’s traded volume stood at 338,040 shares on Monday, up from 69,130 shares on Sunday, while trading value grew to SAR 5.23 million, from SAR 1.6 million.

The stocks of Al-Omran Industrial Trading and Raydan Co fell 8% and 5.7%, respectively, whereas the stock of Baazeem Trading added 1.2%.

Raydan Co’s stock acquired the second market activities after 267,810 shares were exchanged at a turnover of SAR 3.64 million.
